As the home of biological sciences, the Heydon Laurence Building is a much-used building on the University of Sydney campus. Built-in 1895, the building has seen its fair share of refurbishment works. In 2015, a complete façade refurbishment of the whole structure would be undertaken, and Belmadar successfully carried out these challenging works. Much of the Heydon Laurence building’s façade was in poor condition, and there was also identification of hazardous materials, such as asbestos. Belmadar successfully removed and replaced these dangerous constituents with modern building materials whilst maintaining the heritage aesthetics of the building. Belmadar successfully showcased its expertise in refurbishment and restoration with this complete building façade overhaul and makeover. The Heydon Laurence Building now stands proud, having been returned to its former glory.
